The cost to care for a horse is a 24/7 effort and expensive. Sponsorships and other donations help bridge the gap between our program revenue and costs of caring for our horses and maintaining our facilities.
Currently, the average cost of caring for one horse is about $8,500 per year. This covers grain and hay, bedding, farrier services, deworming, spring and fall vaccinations, other veterinarian fees for unanticipated illnesses and injuries, dental services, and our dedicated barn staff. This amount does not cover the cost of our land and facilities in Great Falls, Virginia.
